A Band Of Orcs/Adding Heads To The Pile/IME Entertainment/2012 CD Review

A  Band  Of  Orcs  are  a  band  from  California  that  play  a  blackened  form  of  death  thrash  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  album  "Adding  Heads  To  The  Pile"  which  was  released  by  IME  Entertainment.

Drums range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,     while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they  have  a very  powerful  sound  to  them.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  death  thrash  riffs  that  are  mixed  with  black  metal  as  well  as  some  melodies  being  thrown  into t he  riffing, while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  melodic  sounding  guitar  solos  and  leads,  as  for  the  classical  guitars  when t hey  are  utilized  they  use  finger  picking  to  add  more  melody  to t he  music.

Vocals range  from  death/thrash  style  shouting,  deep  death  metal growls  and  high  pitched  black  metal  screams,  while  the  lyrics  cover  elves  and  trolls  with  a  touch  of  Anglo  Saxon  Mythology,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  A  Band  Of  Orcs  are  a  very  great  sounding  blackened  death/thrash  hybrid  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "When  The  Hills  Run  Red"  "Wyrd  Of  The  Winter  Wolf"  "Stormbringer"  and  "Fall  Of  The  Fire  Lord".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
